Hikvision has launched a new generation of firmware for network video recorders, called NVR 4.0. The firmware provides a new design and new functions. This allows you to experience maximum user satisfaction.

It is launched in Hikvision I series NVR devices, replacing the older NVR 3.0 GUI. Older devices will also benefit from the new firmware.

Through this new design, pleasant user experience and improved intelligent applications, the new generation of GUI operators will allow you to do much more and much more intuitively. You will experience a huge improvement in the operation of the recorder, with new features such as:

• Target detection, important targets can be detected and captured. You can link created snapshots directly to the playback of the event.

• Smooth Dragging, users can easily click and drag to the live view window.

• Thumbnail view, prominent thumbnails can be linked to video playback and become visible when you hover the mouse over the progress bar.

• Export background, during video export user can still switch between menus.

• Graphical camera management, the camera list can be displayed in quadrant making it easy to view the images from each camera.

The NVR 4.0's enhanced intelligent applications include Smart Data Release - allowing users to configure ratios between regular and critical recordings so that vital footage can be stored for longer.

It is also possible to monitor the status of the hard drive in real time with HDD status management (developed in collaboration with Seagate). This guarantees more security and reliability.

Keen Yao, VP of Hikvision's International Business Center, comments: "Hikvision is constantly looking for innovations to improve our products. But we're not just looking at the front-end cameras - we're developing our complete solutions. After two years of development, we are proud to announce the groundbreaking NVR 4.0 GUI, which we believe users will enjoy. "
